The American Bar Association Rule 7.3 states that a lawyer “shall not” contact a prospective Client through a “live telephone” or an “in-person” visit. If an attorney, or someone acting on behalf of an attorney, contacts you in this manner, that attorney is in violation of this Rule. This unethical and unprofessional activity on the part of the lawyer is good sign that you should stay away. It is imperative that you are represented by an attorney who is capable of advocating for you within the confines of the law, and an attorney who fails to abide by the Rules of Professional Conduct is probably not the best fit. In fact, any such attorney should be immediately reported to the local State Bar Association. A man was reportedly shot and robbed outside the King Edward apartments in Houston Saturday night, January 6, 2018.

According to KPRC 2 News, gunfire broke out “around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Long Point Road and Johanna Drive, at the King Edward Apartment complex in northwest Houston.” CW39 reports, “two suspects jumped the victim, held him at gunpoint and demanded his cash.” He was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Did a security failure contribute to this tragic loss of life?

A shooting at a Jacksonville Shell station reportedly claimed the life of 65-year-old Willie Dornes Saturday afternoon, January 6, 2018.

According to First Coast News, gunfire erupted “outside a Shell gas station…at Lowell and Edgewood Avenues,” around 2:30 p.m. Tragically, Mr. Dornes succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

News 4 JAX reports, police believe the “shooting may have stemmed from a robbery attempt.” The tragic incident was apparently one of four deadly Jacksonville shootings in less than 24 hours, raising safety concerns in the area.
