Jose Fernando Partida Tragically Loses Life After Yuma, AZ Industrial Work Accident. (KYMA.com)
Yuma, AZ News – A man tragically lost his life after a work related incident Sunday morning, January 4, 2026.
As reported by KYMA.com, “[the accident] it happened at [an industrial plant], located in the area of E. County Eighth Street, at around 8:20 a.m.”
According to the report, a “coordinated response involving fire, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials teams were initiated’ due to the nature of the facility, which ‘handles regulated materials.’ This prompted the Yuma Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Team/Technical Response Team and Onvida Health personnel to respond to the area.”
People.com is reporting, “Jose Fernando Partida, 57, was cleaning the inside of a chemical mixer at [the milling plant]. A second employee went inside, but then the machine turned on…The second employee escaped, but Partida was trapped inside.”
Per the report, “Rural Metro Fire shut the power off immediately, and after five hours and a complex rescue, first responders and a hazmat team removed Partida from the machine. He sustained several injuries, including broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken arm and bruising throughout his body. He was transported to the hospital, where he [tragically succumbed to his injuries] on Jan. 10.”
