Hazel Dell, WA NEWS – An apartment building fire early Thursday morning, June 19, 2025, tragically claimed one life.

KGW.com is reporting, “[o]ne person has died and another was hospitalized after a fast-moving fire broke out at the Ridgecrest Apartments in Hazel Dell early Thursday morning…The fire was reported at 12:30 a.m. at the apartment complex on Northeast 104th Street.”

According to the report, “[the fire] forced a ‘massive response’ of all rigs from Clark County Fire District 6, the agency said, along with assistance from numerous engines from Vancouver Fire and Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue.”

Columbian.com is reporting, “[o]ne person was sent to the hospital with second-degree burns, and another was injured but declined assistance…Firefighters later found the remains of a person in the debris of the fire.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
