As reported by KXnet.com, “[t]he crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. on September 28, 2025, when a 2006 Peterbilt truck pulling a trailer was headed east on 23rd Street and failed to stop at a posted sign. The truck struck the passenger side of a southbound 2013 Ford Fusion, forcing both vehicles into the southeast ditch of the intersection.”

According to the report, “[a] 25-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl from Watford City, both passengers in the Ford, were pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver, a 24-year-old man from Watford City, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Bismarck.”
InForum.com is reporting, “[a]ccording to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Hannah Kocher, 25, and a 5-year-old girl were killed…[Jacob] Shepard was airlifted to a hospital in Bismarck with serious injuries.”
According to KXnet.com, “[e]veryone involved was wearing seatbelts, troopers said. Road and weather conditions were good at the time of the crash. Multiple agencies responded, including the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, McKenzie Rural Fire, Watford City Police Department, and McKenzie County Ambulance.”
The investigation is ongoing.
