Indianapolis, IN NEWS – Gunfire rang out at a parking garage Thursday evening, May 28, 2026, leaving one man dead.

WRTV.com is reporting, “Indianapolis Metropolitan police said people flagged down officers patrolling the area to inform them of shots fired just after 6 p.m. at the parking garage just east of the convention center, located in the 100 block of South Capitol Avenue.”

According to the report, “[o]fficers found a person described as a young adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police provided aid at the scene before the man was taken to an area hospital in very critical condition.”

As reported by WISHtv.com, “[o]n Sunday morning, the Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Brett Scrogham.”
