Tacoma, WA NEWS – An assault at a psychiatric facility Saturday night, March 14, 2026, left one woman dead.

As reported by TheNewsTribune.com, “[a] 63-year-old woman who was attacked at [a psychiatric hospital] in Tacoma earlier this month has died from her injuries.”

According to the report, “[t]he woman was a patient at the psychiatric hospital on South 19th Street when the attack occurred March 14. She was walking toward another patient in a hallway when he punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious. The patient allegedly beat the woman three separate times while other patients and staff continued to pull him off of her.”

King5.com is reporting, “[t]he victim, a 63-year-old woman, was treated by Tacoma Fire Department paramedics and taken to St. Joseph Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died on Monday, March 30.”

According to Yahoo.com, “[t]he woman was identified as Kristine Renee Cardinal of Tacoma.”
