One woman was injured after a shooting at a Memphis, TN apartment complex early Monday morning, May 22, 2023.

As reported by ActionNews5.com, “[o]fficers responded to the shooting at 2:45 a.m. at the Bentree Apartments on Briarpark Drive.”

LocalMemphis.com is reporting, “[o]nce on scene officers found a woman lying on a bed, still awake and alert, with a gunshot wound. ”

According to the report, “[the victim] told officers she was outside, standing in front of the apartment on the phone, when she heard a gunshot. She then realized she had been shot in the chest and ran back into the apartment bedroom.”

The investigation is ongoing.

As reported by KSHB.com, “[t]he Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department received reports of a shooting shortly before 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Officers responded to the scene at 8621 Drury Ave. and located one victim.”
