As reported by KOMOnews.com, “[o]fficers were called to reports of a shooting after 9:30 p.m. inside a small grocery store in the 3700 block of NE 4th St, just north of Maplewood Park. Police found a man dead from multiple gunshot wounds.”

King5.com is reporting, “witnesses told police officers a man walked into the store and became ‘upset about a gay couple who were at the cash register making a purchase.’ The couple eventually left the store. The man stayed and continued to reach for his waistband while making threats and ‘demanding an explanation about’ the couple who were in the store. Eventually, Gabriel Olazcon Padilla, 35, entered the store and the man began to yell at him. Olazcon Padilla told the man to leave, but he refused. The two got chest-to-chest and then, according to witnesses and surveillance footage, Olazcon Padilla pushed [the suspect], causing him to fall. When [the suspect] got up, he shot Olazcon Padilla.”

According to the report, “[s]urveillance footage shows Olazcon Padilla fall after being shot, and [the suspect] continues to shoot him multiple times, according to the statement of probable cause. An autopsy showed Olazcon Padilla was shot 10 times.”

The investigation is ongoing.
