Could the senseless loss of this young Cleveland father have been prevented, and is justice and compensation available to his family?
Gunfire erupted outside the Lucky Lady Bar Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018, tragically claiming the life of 37-year-old Isaac Carson Jr.
According to News 5, “[Mr.] Carson was sitting in his car outside the Lucky Lady Bar, 19309 Nottingham Road, around 7:40 p.m. when two unknown men entered his vehicle.” One of the suspects opened fire during the altercation, fatally striking Mr. Carson. It is unclear whether robbery is considered a motive.
Family and friends told media Mr. Carson will be remembered as an “exceptional artist…known for singing as he gave haircuts and for brightening people’s day with his optimism.” Sadly, he leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son.

Our Legal Take
Bar and parking lot patrons have a right to feel safe and secure while on the premises. The Murray Law Firm questions the level of security provided on the property and whether this tragedy may have been prevented.
- Have there been prior incidents of violence on or near property? What security measures, such as bright lighting, surveillance cameras, and security patrols, were in place to deter crime and protect Mr. Carson at the time of the shooting?
Generally, property owners are required to protect all those legally on the premises from any foreseeable harm. Should the facts of this matter reveal that the bar owner or management failed to provide adequate security to protect those on its premises, the family of Isaac Carson Jr. may seek justice and elect to pursue legal claims for their loss.
Based upon its prior successful experience in handling security negligence claims on behalf of victims and their families, The Murray Law Firm suggests that photographs and a thorough, unbiased inspection of the property will need to be performed immediately, before any evidence may be repaired, damaged or destroyed. Given the complexities of pursuing a negligent security case, it is imperative that the victim’s family retain an experienced attorney who can ensure the preservation of any and all evidence that may support such a claim.
