Jackson, MS News – One young woman is dead after a nightclub parking lot shooting early Sunday morning, May 17, 2026.
As reported by WKRG.com, “[p]olice said the incident occurred outside of [a nightclub] on Interstate 55 North Frontage Road around 1:00 a.m. on May 17, 2026.”
WLBT.com is reporting, “[u]pon arrival at the scene, officers found that a physical altercation involving several males had taken place in the parking lot of [the nightclub]. According to officials, during this altercation, gunfire was exchanged.”
According to the report, “[o]fficers at the scene located a Black Honda Accord with a Black female inside. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and died from her injuries. [Hinds County Coroner] later identified the victim as 19-year-old Alana Duck from Brandon. Two additional victims who had suffered gunshot wounds were taken to local hospitals by AMR to receive medical treatment.”
The investigation is ongoing.
