Gunfire rang out outside a Shelby, NC bar early Saturday morning, April 2, 2022, leaving one teen man dead and three other people injured.

As reported by WBTV.com, “[t]he shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the back parking lot of [a Saloon] off East Dixon Boulevard. When police arrived on scene, they found two people had been shot.”

ShelbyStar.com is reporting, “[w]hen Shelby Police officers arrived, they found Zechariah Freeman, 18, dead from at least two bullet wounds.”

According to the report, “[a]nother man was found injured at the scene, and a man and woman who were also hit by bullets had driven themselves to the hospital. None suffered life-threatening injuries, and all were treated at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby.”

The investigation is ongoing.
